The club takes its name
The club takes the name of its lake — and its identity as a place for families, sport, and summers on the water.
Willie Park Jr. lays out eighteen holes
Two-time British Open champion Willie Park Jr. lays out eighteen championship holes along the lake — a golden-age design the club still plays today. Laid out between 1917 and 1924.

The largest investment in club history rebuilt the clubhouse, the pool and the dining terrace, added new locker rooms and a youth room, and expanded the kitchen — then went out and renovated the golf course. What follows is not a plan. It is what is open now.
- GolfEighteen Willie Park Jr. holes, two TrackMan simulators for the winter, and more than 120 events a year.
- RacquetsNine courts — four of them heated and indoors, so the season never actually ends. Pickleball year-round.
- AquaticsAn Olympic-sized pool with dedicated lap lanes, a private beach, a floating swim platform and a members-only marina.
- FitnessA renovated fitness center: cardio, weights, TRX, a matrix multi-station, circuit machines and a yoga and stretching room.
- The tableSeven waterfront settings, from white tablecloths to the Snack Shack, March through December.

Coming as a guest
Guests are always welcome with a member. A few things worth knowing before you arrive — nothing here is meant to be forbidding, only to spare anyone an awkward moment at the door.
Casual attire in good taste throughout. Sport coats for men in the Formal Dining Room. Denim, in good taste, is fine in the Members Grill, Lounge, Patio and Locker Rooms, but not in the Lake Room or the Formal Dining Room. Hats are not worn indoors, except in the Locker Rooms.
Collared shirts, tucked in, and soft spikes only. Slacks, golf shorts, skorts or capris. Caps with the brim forward. No denim, graphic tees, tank tops or cargo shorts. Change in the Locker Rooms rather than the car park.
Shoes worn on the outdoor clay courts stay off the clubhouse floors, and golf shoes go no further than the Members Grill. Swimmers need a cover-up away from the pool. If you are unsure about anything, ask your host or call the clubhouse — nobody minds the question.
