New for 2020
This year there will be additional training available to new and veteran caddies that we feel are ready to learn the art of reading Greens. We also plan on implementing more focus on cart chasing and the ability to carry doubles into our current training sessions.
Evans Scholars Foundation/Western Golf Association
The Evans Scholars Foundation is the nation’s largest privately funded college scholarship program. The program has provided over 8,700 caddies with outstanding college educations. Applications for the scholarship are accepted after August 15th following the candidate’s junior year of high school. Pine Lake Country Club is one of roughly twenty-nine golf clubs in the Lower Peninsula that offer caddie opportunities and actively participate in the Foundation. In the past, Pine Lake has had an excellent track record of producing Evans Scholars. For more information regarding the Foundation you can contact us at 248-682-2191 or visit their website by clicking: Western Golf Association, Evans Scholarship Foundation
Frequently Asked Questions
Caddie shirts and bibs are provided by the club; however, there is a $5 fee for the hat and identification pin. Also, you are required to wear non-cargo khaki pants/shorts that are not provided by the club.
2. How often can I caddie?
In regards to caddie opportunities, we are primarily a Friday afternoon/Saturday morning/Sunday morning club. There are a few exceptions such as our Wednesday night men's spring league and other tournaments that provide caddying opportunities during the week.
3. What are the different caddie levels?
Our different caddie levels are: Honor, class A, class B, and class C. All new caddies start at a class C and are promoted based on member evaluations/recommendations, number of rounds, course knowledge, character, etc.
4. Where should my parents drop me off/pick me up?
As with years past, please tell your ride to drop you off and pick you up along side the indoor tennis house. For those that don’t know, the indoor tennis house is the large building with aluminum siding that runs parallel to Pine Lake Road. Do not pull into the bag drop area that wraps around the fountain. The bag drop is only to be used by members and their guests.
